THE INTERNET RETAIL REVOLUTION
Hello world and greetings to my networking friends,
Article from: Affiliate Marketing 3.0 by: Michael Rasmussen
In the early days, selling on the internet was very basic, you might say it was like riding a bike instead of flying a plane. The internet was brand new, it was novel, people had never seen anything like it, and just about anything would probably attract lots of visitors who told you that your site was cool. People forget that selling on the Internet was very slow to mature.
In the early days it was a challenge just to get people to buy anything, because they were deathly afraid of someone stealing their credit card information. That issue has subsided, people are more than willing to whip out a credit card and buy something online, or use Paypal or a Debit card…it’s not a problem anymore. What’s different now, internet shoppers and buyers have become much more sophisticated. They aren’t impressed as much by flashing graphics or gimmicks, they’re looking for substance:
1) They want to be able to find exactly what they’re shoppong for.
2) They want to comparison shop with a few mouse clicks.
3) They want the entire process to be convenient.
4) They usually want to find bargins.
5) Saftey is provided for them and they simply assume online buying is safe.
The most obvious change is that the largest retailers on the internet today are focusing like a laser beam on customized product search, because that’s what gets the attention of the savvier prospects. You don’t have to look any farther than the Internet’s number one retailer…AMAZON… is a perfect example of the massive industry shift that’s going on. Discontinue restricting your online marketing to information marketing only, when INTETNET RETAILERS with affiliate programs are like an untapped gold mine, and the retail affilliate marketing world makes ebooks and software profits look like chump change. Internet Marketing has become personalized, therefore affiliate marketing must do the same.
